TaylorMade Burner Fairway WoodReviewsI recently added this taylor fairway wood, along with the TaylorMade Men's Burner 460 Ti Driver. Very happy with both clubs. I've added about 15 yards, have better club speed, and it has proven to have better control of keeping it straight, with added height to my shots. I have owned the 3,5, and 7 woods and the 3 wood is the only one I kept. The Burner St wood is large in head size, and provides assurance for mid to high handicappers. Carpenter steel face has excellent feel at impact. The shaft is 50 grams light to help out the slower swinger, but not good for the high swing speeds. Note there is a built in draw bias, therefore hooks can occur for some players. I found the 5 and 7 woods too large and too light. Not very playable from all turf conditions. But the 3 wood fits my game. For better players, I recommend the TP version. The TP version is smaller sized, neutral biased, and has a heavier shaft. Taylor Made has perfected the driver with the Burner model. Mis hits are so few with this driver. The weight distribution allows higher swing with amazing control. After spining the club (which i do to all my clubs), I am getting 15 to 20 more yards on my drive than i was with my R5. Get this driver. You will not be disappointed! Average Rating:![]() |

Assist Weighted Golf Swing Trainer, right, 3LBReviewsMolded Grip makes sure your hands and fingers are in the proper position. The weight of the club helps you insure that your hands are properly rotating through the hitting zone. This works just like it is advertised to do. I've only used it maybe 2 hours total and already notice the difference at the driving range and on the course, This a replacement for an older version that was lost. It is the only golf swing trainer I would use. I was told of this product by my parents who had been told about this from a golf shop salesman....but they offered to buy it for me and they were clearly sold on the idea but I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first. Upon receiving the training club I noticed how heavy it truly was. I ordered the heaviest one I could (3.5 pounds) thinking i'm quite a strong player with a need for some extra weight.....i'm glad I did but it was very heavy and my wrists and forearms knew about it the first few swings... If your not the strongest player int he world then i'd say get a slightly lighter one. Does it improve your swing?? Well in theory it is meant to smooth out your swing, get you back on plane and physically cause you to align your hands and therefore the clubface correctly on the downswing....causing muscle memory to kick in and allowing you to take this into your normal swing. In practice??? Well, I was astounded at the results. Maybe its just that i'm smoother in my take-away and down swing now, maybe it that i'm using a lighter club on the course and feel like i'm swinging a feather or maybe its all just psychological, but I can see a huge improvement in my driving on the course. I am now out-driving all the guys I play with using a 3 wood while they are taking drivers...ok so as I said i'm a strong player and distance has never been a problem but the other thing is i'm straight as an arrow and right down the line where i'm aiming, which gives you a lot of confidence to hit those trickier tee-shots and fairway lies. I would highly recommend this training club to anyone interested in strengthening their swing and straightening out their shots. The trick is to not get carried away with power and let the swing trainer mold your swing and then take smooth strokes on the course ... you will clearly see a difference! Average Rating:![]() |
